Texas Trip

Happy Wednesday, y’all!

As promised, I will be sharing all of my trip details from my recent visit to Texas! I went to Dallas, Waco, and Austin with my mom and boyfriend last weekend and we had the BEST time visiting the Lone Star state and I already want to go back. I ate the most amazing food and ate way too much while I was there. From BBQ to Voodoo Doughnuts, we ate it all, literally. Our trip was four days long, but we managed to fit everything possible in those four days in order to fully take advantage of the time we had there.

1. Dallas

We flew into Dallas Fort-Worth early Thursday morning and we hit the road running once we got there. We headed straight to Plano and Frisco to check out where we might want to live, which was SO exciting! I loved both Plano and Frisco and I could definitely see myself living there. We spent the rest of the day exploring neighborhoods and houses before heading downtown for dinner. We had our first Hopdoddy burger experience and it was amazing! I got the La Bandita which is a black bean burger with amazing garnishes inside, I absolutely loved it (we even went back later on in the trip because I wanted another one so badly). We then went to Uptown to hang out at a bar and grab a beer. I also loved Uptown, it was so cute and had the best restaurants, apartments, and bars! Upon arriving in Dallas, I turned on my phone, checked my email and got the most AMAZING/EXCITING news ever! I had been accepted by Reward Style and was officially apart of LIKEtoKNOW.it. I had been anticipating this email for awhile and was so eager to hear back. Becoming apart of this program was one of my main goals since I first started my blog. I had such a love for this program before I even started my blog so I knew right when I started my own, I would work hard to become apart of Reward Style. My blogging dream came true and in the most perfect place I could imagine, Dallas, where the Reward Style headquarters and LIKEtoKNOW.it wall are both located! 2. Waco

On day two, we woke up and set off to Waco. We were so excited (this was one of the highlights of my trip) to see Magnolia and the Silos. We all love Fixer Upper and wanted to see Magnolia and the Silos in real life. We did some shopping at Magnolia Market and i seriously wanted to buy EVERYTHING. I got a tank top, baseball hat, a beige tote, and a wooden frame. All of the house decor was so cute and the layout of the market was adorable as well. I love the gathering area at the Silos, which has swings, food trucks, a big grass lawn, picnic tables, and more. The entire location is centered around gathering with family and friends, which is something I love to do. I enjoyed just sitting outside and enjoying the ambiance of Magnolia, which is something I will always remember. After spending some time at the Silos and market, we then headed to a bar and grill called The Backyard. We had amazing BBQ and a beer and enjoyed the music. The food was amazing and this restaurant also had an amazing ambiance with corn hole, picnic tables, and live music. 3. Austin

We spent our third and fourth days exploring Austin. We saw everything on our Austin bucket list and we loved every second of it. We started by visiting the UT Austin campus, where we drove around and looked at all of the beautiful buildings. We then went downtown and walked along the river that runs straight through the city. So many people were out running, paddleboarding, kayaking, and walking their dogs. I love seeing people outdoors enjoying the beautiful weather and scenery around them. We then went to dinner for Cinco de Mayo and got prickly pear margaritas (my favorite). Our last day in Austin, we ventured out to the famous Greetings from Austin mural and also went to Jo’s Coffee where we took pictures in front of the famous ‘I love you so much.’ wall. We shopped around at all of the boutiques and had lunch at Torchy’s Tacos. If you live in Austin and haven’ been to Torchy’s Tacos, you are missing out. I had the best tacos I have ever had at Torchy’s, I’m honestly still thinking about them. I got the baja shrimp and the democrat, I highly recommend both. We finished our day by going to Voodoo Doughnuts on 6th Street and I finally had my first Voodoo Doughnut experience. The doughnut was SO good so I definitely recommend also going there while you’re in Austin. As you can tell, we absolutely loved Texas and the cities we visited. I hope to visit again soon and someday move to Texas!

XOXO,

Jonica
