Chicago

Happy Saturday!

If you follow me on social media, you are well aware I was in Chicago last week because I posted an abundance of pictures during my time in the Windy City. We had such an amazing time exploring everything Chicago has to offer and probably gained five pounds along the way. The food in Chicago is unbelievably good, so good I always had room for more. We were there for five days and I definitely could have stayed longer. Today I will be sharing my travel guide to Chicago, including everything we did while we were there and where we ate!

Day 1:

We spent our first morning in Chicago going to Goddess & the Baker, which is an amazing breakfast, coffee, and pastry shop in Chicago. I got a breakfast sandwich with a vanilla latte and it did not disappoint. We then walked through the city and took the Red Line train to Wrigleyville. We then saw the Cubs play the Braves and had so much fun sitting in the bleacher section. I love the fans at Wrigley Field because they get so into the game and make the atmosphere a fun place to be. The Cubs beat the Braves, yay! To finish the day, we ate at Gino’s East and had deep dish Chicago pizza, so yummy!

Day 2:

We hit up Glazed and Infused donuts before making our way to the suburbs for my cousin’s wedding. Her and her husband had the most beautiful wedding, I wish I took more pictures of the venue to show you all how beautiful it was.

Day 3:

We made our way back into the city early the next morning to enjoy a full day in Chicago. We started our day at Hash House A Go Go, which has the most unreal breakfast platters. I got the chicken and waffles, which as you can see, was bigger than my face. It was absolutely delicious though. After our huge breakfast, We decided to walk along Lake Shore Drive next to Lake Michigan to burn off all of the food we ate. They were hosting a pro beach volleyball tournament so we got to see the venue and everything going on for the tournament. It was a beautiful day at Lake Michigan, everyone was swimming in the lake and tanning on the beach. We then made our way to The Hampton Social to drink frosé and take pictures in front of the rosé all day sign! To wrap up the night, we had a light dinner and all picked at cheese boards from our hotel.

Day 4:

We woke up and went back to Goddess & the Baker one last time. We then shopped around Michigan Avenue, bought caramel/cheddar popcorn at Garrett’s, and went on an boat tour on the Chicago River. We took the architectural boat tour with Shoreline Boat Tours and we highly recommend using them if you take a boat tour in Chicago. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and allowed us to ask questions. The boat tour was the highlight of my trip and I would do it again in a heartbeat. For our last night in Chicago, we went to the Londonhouse rooftop bar (which is where we stayed during our time in Chicago) and enjoyed the most beautiful views of the Chicago river and all of the skyscrapers. We then went to Cindy’s Rooftop and enjoyed the views of Millenium Park and the bean, along with views of Lake Michigan. Afterwards, we had dinner and drank wine on the Chicago Riverwalk and watched the boats go by. If you get the chance, City Winery is a wonderful place to relax, eat dinner, and enjoy a glass of wine by the river.

Day 5:

It was difficult to say goodbye to Chicago after all of the wonderful food we ate and amazing places we saw. It was so nice to spend time with my family that I hadn’t seen for awhile and enjoy time with my parents and boyfriend. We all highly recommend staying at the Londonhouse next time you visit Chicago. We had the most spectacular service, amazing views, and beautiful rooms while we were there. We couldn’t leave the city without stopping by Stan’s Donuts on our way out. We all got a specialty donut and waved goodbye to the Windy City.

All of the outfits I wore in Chicago can be shopped under the ‘Shop Instagram’ tab on my blog!

Till next time, Chi-town.

Xoxo,

Jonica
