Trip to Colorado

Happy Friday!

I’m sorry it has taken me so long to put together a post from my trip to Colorado! We got back and jumped right back into the swing of life and I feel even though the holidays are over, I am still just as busy. Anyways, I finally put this post together and I am so excited to share all of the details of our recent trip to Denver, Vail, and Steamboat Springs. I went with my dad and boyfriend and we all had a blast! My aunt, uncle, and cousin live in Vail so we stayed with them during our time in Colorado. They have a beautiful cabin in Edwards and it was the perfect Colorado cabin feel.

Our flight left around 8 pm on the Friday we left and after working all day, we were upgraded to first class, which was a nice treat after a long day! We got into Denver late and stayed the night at a Hilton in Denver because there was no way we were driving up to Vail in the dark after working all day and traveling.

At the end of this post, I’m sharing all of my favorite restaurant recommendations and favorite things to do!

We then woke up early and our family picked us up and we went to the most AMAZING breakfast place ever (pictured below)! It is called Hashtag Restaurant and I highly recommend going if you are ever in the Denver area. I got the eggs benedict and it was delicious. I wish I took pictures of everyone’s food because all of the food looked and tasted sooooo good. After breakfast, we hit the road up to Vail and relaxed for the rest of the day, which was much needed.

We woke up early the next morning and went exploring around Vail Village, which was the highlight of my trip. I love walking around all of the shops and watching the mountain-goers come down the mountain. Charlie and I usually snowboard, but his knees have been bugging him lately so we decided not to go this year. We watched this talented man carve the most beautiful ice sculptures for the upcoming art walk in Vail. I highly recommend going during the holidays because everything is decorated so nicely and there are lights and ice sculptures everywhere (pictured below).

The following day, we decided to take a two hour drive up to Steamboat Springs and went snowmobiling and walked around the town. We drove out to the hot springs and the wait to drive up to the springs was an hour so we turned around. Steamboat Springs is the cutest little ski town and I definitely want to go back and stay longer! We then cozied up by the fire and went to Vail Brewing Company, which was our favorite brewery in Vail. Since it was New Years Eve, we then went to Vail Mountain to watch the mountain parade and fireworks, which were just as good, if not better than the fireworks at Disneyland! We spent the rest of New Years Eve watching the ball drop and playing cards, it was the perfect night.

We were so sad to leave, but we had the best time exploring and packed so much into our short trip! We were so bummed that it didn’t snow a ton while we were there, but we hope to go back soon! If you are thinking about planning a trip to Colorado, I highly recommend going to Vail, especially during the holidays!
