Unless you have been living under a rock (just kidding) then you know that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts this week, eek! This is the biggest sale of the year in my opinion at least and I wait all year long for this sale to start. This sale is the best because all of my favorite Nordstrom items are on major sale. Everything from exclusive beauty kits, jeans, leather jackets, booties, basic tees, sunglasses, handbags, you name it. I save all of my fall shopping for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale because I find the best deals and don’t have to pay full price for everything. So let me jump right in and explain how it all works.
How it Works:
The sale technically starts today, if you are a level 4 cardholder that is. If you are a level 4 cardholder, you may walk into any Nordstrom sale and shop in person for exclusive deals and first access to the sale. The early access for all other cardholders begins on July 12th, which is when I will begin shopping. The early access shoppers will have from July 12th- July 19th before the sale opens to the general public. If you are really interested in the sale and know you want to purchase specific items, I highly recommend applying for a Nordstrom credit card because items sell out so fast and I’m not just saying that. If you add something to your cart, it definitely won’t be there for a day and might even be gone after an hour, it’s crazy. I applied for a card and was immediately approved and the process was so easy. If you get approved, you will not only gain early access to the sale, but you will also receive a $40 note, which is essentially a $40 Nordstrom gift card, which you may use towards the sale. After early access ends, the sale opens up to the public on July 20th and will be happening until August 5th, prices go up on August 6th.
How to Shop the Sale:
I personally enjoy shopping from the comfort of my home because during the sale, people get vicious and start pushing each other (not even joking) in the stores. It is an absolute mad house, which is why i would rather online shop. Nordstrom also has an amazing return policy so if you need to order two sizes or two colors and see which one works best for you, you can return the other item for free. I also think it is easier to shop online because everything is so much easier to find, versus running all over the store looking for what you need. With this being said, I will be doing a try on session with items I am loving from the sale so I will brave the store and let you all know how it goes this year. Last year, I said I would never go back during the sale, but here I am again attempting to brave the storm.
Tips for shopping the sale:
- Make a list of what you really want so that you aren’t wasting time and aimlessly browsing. If you know you just want to browse and see if you find anything you like, that it is more than okay, but if you know you 100% want certain items, make a list of those items before the sale starts.
- If you want something, don’t leave it in your cart for too long or it may be gone. Just because it is in your cart, doesn’t mean it is on hold for you until you actually purchase the item. It is so easy to checkout on Nordstrom.com so I would encourage making multiple orders instead of losing an item.
- Like I said before, all returns are free. If you absolutely love an item, but don’t know if it will fit you or not, buy two sizes. You can always return the one that doesn’t fit you so it is better to buy two than buy the wrong size and find out that it is sold out.
I will be adding a Nordstrom Sale tab on my blog and will be updating my favorite items for each category daily so stay tuned and check back in tomorrow to see all of my sale picks! Feel free to email me, leave a comment, or DM me on Instagram if you have any questions. I am also hosting a givesway for a $500 Nordstrom giveaway on my Instagram today, just in time for the sale! Happy shopping!
