Hello! I’m back with another post and this actually might be my most requested blog post. As some of you may know, I have been going to Lake Powell every year since I was a baby, well before I could even swim. Lake Powell is my absolute favorite place in the world. It is so peaceful, beautiful, and I have the best memories from going to the lake. I have done every possible combination of staying at Lake Powell throughout the years – camping, hotels, houseboat, etc. and they are all such different experiences.
Day one:

Our most recent trip (Fourth of July weekend), we stayed at a hotel and stayed at the Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Page Lake Powell. We have been staying here for YEARS and love how the hotel allows dogs for a small fee, has daily breakfast, and is in a convenient location. Sadly, the water was the lowest it has ever been. Lake Powell is seeing record breaking low water levels. We typically launch our boat at Antelope Point Marina, which was closed at the time due to the low water levels. We ended up launching the boat at a private ramp via the Valet Boat Service at Antelope Point for $40. They launch the boat in the water and park your car for you as well and it was the only ramp we could utilize at Antelope Point.
Once we launched the boat, we headed to Gunsight Bay where my aunt and uncle had their houseboat for the week. We met up with them and spent the day celebrating Charlie’s birthday! We went wakesurfing, played cornhole, and relaxed on the beach. It was the perfect day and the beach they found was absolutely amazing! After our amazing beach day, we went back to the hotel to get ready for Charlie’s birthday dinner in Page. We always go to El Tapatio because they do the best birthday celebrations. I got a margarita and the chicken enchiladas, they were so good, and I definitely overstuffed myself.

Day two:

The following day, we woke up and went back to our beach in Gunsight Bay to enjoy the sun and time on the beach. I spent all day reading, relaxing on a floatie, and playing cornhole. It was the most perfect day and much needed for all of us. After our beach day, we again went back to the hotel and got ready for dinner and went to State 48 Tavern in Page. Charlie and I both got beers and split the Cranberry Walnut Salad and the Cowboy Burger, both were a 10/10! We also had to get another birthday dessert for Charlie because birthdays aren’t just a one day event in my family. I highly recommend visiting this fun spot for drinks and appetizers or dinner!

Day three:
We woke up bright and early for Fourth of July and headed to the lake for a fun filled day. We went up lake and went to Rock Creek to the famous ‘Hole in the Roof.’ It was crazy seeing it as a hole in the roof because we usually visit and it is a swimming hole within the rocks, and not a ~50 foot jump into the water. It was absolutely stunning though and so happy we took the boat ride to see it! We stopped along the way there and back to swim and then headed back to our beach in Gunsight for the day. We left the beach and went to an early dinner at Antelope Point Marina. This is our favorite spot to eat and drink when we visit Lake Powell and it has such a fun atmosphere. We got margaritas, wings, an salad and buffalo chicken pizza, everything was delicious! After dinner, we got ice cream at Gramma Betty’s, which is also at Antelope Point Marina – the swirl soft serve in a cone is always my go to. After dinner, we went back to the hotel and got ready for the annual firework show. We watched it from the back of my dad’s truck then had another birthday celebration for Charlie at the hotel!

Day four:

We woke up and packed our bags to hit the road and head home, which is always so sad. I hate leaving Lake Powell and always count down the days until we go back again. There are so many amazing ways to see and explore the lake. If you haven’t visited yet, you are missing out and HAVE to go! Here are some of my recommendations throughout the years to save for your next visit:
- Kayak through Antelope Canyon
- Camp on Lone Rock Beach
- Boat ride through Navajo Canyon
- Boat and hike to Rainbow Bridge
- Eat at Antelope Point Marina
- RV or tent camp at Stateline
- Boat and hike Escalante River
- Houseboat trip – it is the hands down BEST way to experience Lake Powell
